Does anybody have a clue how to get the gold from Ramirez's island to build the junks? I've sunk 50 of his ships and tried landing with soldiers to fight him but he islways wins.

I'd be interested in this too -- this is the quest where I finally gave up and went back to 1404 for a while because I just couldn't figure this out.

I've done it - hurrah!! You need howlitzers and then you can blow up the pirate camp without encountering the pirates - by approaching from the South
Now to mission 10

you'll have alot of trouble in mission 10 if you don't build alot of ships, I made that mistake and it took me a month to beat it!

Mission 9 is a bitch. It took me a long time to figure out that:
War Junks are better than small warships and are free, once you get the gems.
You can only take the pirate island by shelling the pirate headquarters with howetzers, by land.
You really have to tune your economy to a gnat's butt, to not go bankrupt. Takes several tries. Hours on the verge of bankruptcy.

You're the second person (other than myself) who've ever I've heard use this phrase. Actually, Hal says "to the gnat's fanny", but same thing. I smiled when I read that.

I would suggest to do it this way.

Once you have enough supplies, I would suggest building at least two or three small warships in the beginning of this mission, then worry about the supply junks, then load them up with the needed provisions. Next, Dock your war fleet (Flagship and 3 small warships) in the harbor of the island Henriech Jorganson gave you. Now, worry about trade and fixing the lighthouse, be sure to keep your supply junks in Liang Wu's port. Next, after rebuilding the lighthouse, use your small war-fleet and attack the pirate island (Be sure to sink all of Ramirez' ships first). Command your small warships to attack the pirate warehouse while dropping off your troops on the back beach via your flagship. Then, send it to aid your fleet. Your army should include of four mortar units with four pikemen escorts. Send your pikemen to hold off the enemy which should try and attempt to destroy your cannons. While they hold them off, use the cannons and barrage on the pirate fortress. Once it is destroyed, Ramirez' neutral ship will leave the islands. disband your troops and send your small warships up to Liang Wu's island and send your flagship to your main island ASAP before sending it back with the needed supplies to start a colony. Hopefully, if you get there in time, you will have awsome pirate ornamental buildings! Mine gold, then deliver it to Liang. Begin constructing the war junks. Don't send the fleet to the lighthouse yet, first, see how much gold and supplies you have on your main island, and then, destroy every single building on it, and even though you will be in the red, you will still have quite a bit of money! See if you can build some large warships. If you have enough money, try and build at least two. Once they are built, send EVERY SHIP YOU HAVE. To the lighthouse. The next mission will start once all the junks are there, so begin by sending your normal ships up, and then send your armada of junks up. The next mission will start soon after and you will have a huge fleet of fourteen ships, ten used for fighting.
