Greetings from Scotland. I got the above for Christmas and I have not even opened it yet

I have been busy with the S7 Beta and playing Settlers 6. I am a long time settlers fan but I stopped playing after S4 ( I was very very disappointed with S5 HOK and so did not even bother to buy S6 when it came out! Boy was that a mistake!!!) I have been engrossed with S6 for the last 6 weeks!! Love it!! Hope ANNO1404 is at least as good!!

Hi blobbymac - glad you found AnnoFans

I think you will be surprised with Anno 1404 - it has many elements of Settlers games, but there's a great deal that sets it aside from other games in the same genre.
Like The Settlers, its a game you can play over and over without getting bored

Hi blobbymac, long time Settlers player here too, Yippee !!

I stopped after S4 just like you, I skipped S5 but gave it a try on S6 but somehow it just lost its magic on me.

Anyway, are you new to the Anno series? I hope you will enjoy it as much as S6 and welcome to the forum.

I've never played Settlers before (got in on Beta for 7, but it expired before I got a chance to play it), but 1404 was so good that I had to go back and locate the previous titles. Before buying 1404 I had gotten as far into Caesar IV as my computer would let me go (the maps were getting so big that it would crash). I'm totally addicted to 1404 and 1701 -- hope you have lots of fun with them too.
